Friday the 5th I arrived at a small island (actually peninsula of Vanua Levu, but not accessible from land) at Dolphin Bay Divers. A small eco dive resort with 10 rooms. Well rooms

is not really correct. 4 are Jungle Tents on the beach and 4 are bures – the traditional Fijian bamboo hut. The tents have real beds ad a couple of chairs inside…

I stay in a tent and can hear the water from my bed – and see it too, so it is seaview. At 20 FJD per day. This is a bargain. Drawbacks? Toilet and shower is 100 meters away, and there is only cold water. But this place is paradise: White sandy beach, coral reef with great snorkelling, palm trees, genuine cozyness… Paradise in lack of a better word.

And at a very reasonable price. But that is not even the best. The best is, that it is only minutes from the Rainbow reef – which is on TOP 10 worldwide for the White Wall. In general Fiji is considered the worlds soft coral heaven. And it is true.

Today I dived the White Wall and the Purple Wall. The names are correct and it is very beautiful sites – both soft and hard coral and turtles and sharks. Saturday I dived two other sites, JJ and another one which I dont remember the nme of right now.

The diving here is phenomenal. And the visibility is extraordinary…. So paradise? Yes!
