I believe, this doens’t take much words…
The only thing is, that I was surprised. The carnival is now being “cleaned up” from the previous sexuality and explicity and confined to the Sambadrone… There are 12 major schools who each does an 1 hour parade with thousands of people and multiple fleets… This is very impressive and beautiful… And it is a competition. Everything is judged.
The last of the 12 groups are moved to the challenger group, and the best from the challenger is moved to the major group. The winners are announced and on the 20th february the GRAND GROUPS, i.e. top 6 are to present their show again…
I was surprised to learn, that the samba has left the carnival, now it is a show with koreography, special songs, themes etc. – but still spectacular.
