After three days in Great Jaipur, the trip went to Pushkar. A very religous city in the middle of nowhere. Famous for the ONLY temple for Brahma in Hindu culture and hence a very holy place.

Distance 300 km. Time via car: 7 hours. This is India!

Well arrived, and checked in at Jaigar Singh Palace – and even better hotel and former palace – than Shahpura house, with real gold paintings on the wall… The paint looked new, even though it was painted 200 years ago… Wonderful.

The town, or should I say, the couple of houses are nothing in itself, but there is a holy lake in the middle, and the athmosphere is very laid back… This looks like backpacker heaven, and cost of living is very low. Less than 300 INR – 30 DKK – 5 USD per day.

The city is holy, and therefore alcohol and meat are forbidden by law!
