I went on a daytrip to the Montana Alta – the high Andes. The highest mountain outside Asia (and actually in both the western and southern hemisphere) is Aconcagua 6952 m high… But is doesn’t seem that high, because from the viewpoint you are already at 3000 m.
Also, the border to Chile is in the Andes, and there is beautiful mountains all around. Breathtaking.
