The only thing which comes to mind now is: Waau. Mindboggeling big and beautiful. The forbidden city aka The Palace Museum. The residence of 14 emperors of china… 700.000 m2 of courtyards, houses and gardens. All in a rectangular shape. 8.700 rooms. Protected by a52m wide and 6m deep moat and a 8m high and 6m wide wall… Impressive.
And the tourists are equally impressive: Thousands and thousands. Most of them chinese. Which means, that you have to push and be firm in order to see anything. The only thing they think about is themselves. No queue culture, no thinking about others. Just doing their own thing… And you should too, if you want to purchase a ticket, or get a view inside one of the buildings…
I spend half a day here, and yet some time in the sourrounding park and at Tianamen Square. Another impressive feat of the Chinese.
