Yesterday Thailand celebrated LoyKratong, a festival, where you send your worries to sea or heaven using a small boat or baloon made of paper or banana leaves…

Each have inscense sticks and a candle to light into the night… A beautiful ceremony, and a ceremony so important, that the television showed the royal family send off their krathongs… A festival of light and hope. The idea is, that you send away your worries and pray for luck and fortune for the comming year.

Beautiful to participate in… Almost like our new year, where fireworks and light fill the sky and we hope/wish for good things to come in the new year. But I must admit, that my mind also focused on my – to soon – departure from Thailand aka the land of smiles. I go to Japan on november 7th.

Everythingis booked: Flights, hotel and activities and I am looking forward to the exitement of again experiencing the world… But I will miss Thailand. Until I return, which will be soon!
